Students that fail a required course for graduation with a F or F* may be eligible for credit recovery.
Credit recovery is a way for students to earn credit through a virtual platform for a course they have already attempted in-person and failed. Students assigned to credit recovery must complete ALL assigned work with a grade of 67% or higher to earn credit through credit recovery.
Students eligible for credit recovery should see their assigned counselor to complete a contract and begin. The contract will outline expectations associated with credit recovery.
The Louisiana Department of Education only allows students to earn up 2 total credits each school year and a maximum of 7 total credits for their entire high school career. When the maximum total is reached students may be required to re-enroll in a previously attempted course so that they may earn credit for that course.
Students that are considered "over-aged and under-credited" should consult their counselor to discuss graduation progress and possible alternative graduation programs such as HISET. Our goal is to see all our students receive a high school diploma or high school diploma equivalent so that they can access all possible opportunities available to high school graduates.
